We were the first people to live in this house after it was built in late 2017. It’s been a wonderful house to raise our young family. Living on Shinfield Meadows has been great, you get the benefit of all the great green spaces and countryside but know you are less than an hour away from central London if needed which has been ideal for commuting, as well as being close to Reading, Bracknell, Wokingham and Basingstoke town centers which we frequently use.
Our house was our sanctuary during the Covid period – we spent a lot of time in our south facing garden which we gets incredible amount of sunshine from mid-morning till the end of the day, having breakfast in the garden or sitting outside enjoying a glass of wine on the patio in the evening has became a privilege for us. We have been delighted with the results of the bi-fold doors we had installed in 2021 which really opens up the garden to the kitchen and allows us to enjoy the garden to its full potential, making the garden and the house feel as one seamless space.
As our son got older the use of the rooms has evolved and he’s moved bedrooms as his needs change the house has also allowed us to do this, the dining room was his playroom when he was an infant now it’s our grown up snug, the kitchen is where we host and entertain and it’s a lovely family space.
We have upgraded quite a lot of the house over time since we moved in, as well as fitting the bi-fold doors we’ve had the loft professionally boarded, upgraded the kitchen appliances including fitting a water softer as well as having extensive landscaping done to both the front and rear gardens.
The whole of the downstairs flooring was relayed by the house builder in the summer of July 2021 and we had the stairs done at the same time.
The house benefits from being relatively new and is easy and efficient to heat, the boiler is regularly serviced and we’ve never had a cold shower since moving in! Broadband is fibre to the door and our son has never complained about it, so that’s a good sign!
We’ve loved our time living at Lawrence Place and the village of Shinfield has been wonderful to raise our son, he’s got involved in lots of local clubs and seems to know every kid in the village these days, we are only moving as we are looking to upsize but want to remain close to Shinfield.

Shinfield Meadows is a lovely location, very central to all your needs and wants making it very popular for young professionals and families. Literally, just a few minutes walk you will find the popular Langley Mead nature reserve, which is great for walks and you also have various play parks close by with one being visible from this property itself. Within a short walk or drive you have plenty of amenities including Dobbies Garden Centre which has a Waitrose mini, along with a great butchers and within Shinfield Village you have Co-Op a few popular pubs, a post office and the very popular Robyn's Nest cafè, which we love.
There are main bus routes close by taking you into Reading or Wokingham towns and you are just a few minutes from Mereoak Park and Ride or junction 11 of the M4, making it a really well connected location.
