The Sellers View...
My parents bought this semi-detached bungalow with off-road parking in 1964. They extended the property, adding a dormer and garage to create a very comfortable family home where I grew-up. I have very fond childhood memories of long summers playing in the garden and of family walks and cycle rides along country lanes nearby, spotting birds, insects, and vintage planes flying around White Waltham Airfield – heaven for a curious young boy!

My parents continued to live in the bungalow for the rest of their lives. They loved living in this area and when they retired they spent hours most days walking their dog in the nearby countryside (there is a picturesque route along Breadcroft Lane, a few minutes walk away, to Cherry Garden Lane, and through the Woolley Firs nature reserve to the Maidenhead Thicket).

The gardens at both the front and the rear are deceptively large and have been maintained over recent years by an excellent gardener. The back garden is south-facing and my father used to grow a wide range of fruit and vegetables and made jam that he distributed among friends and neighbours.

The neighbours are very friendly and kind: During the COVID-19 pandemic, my mother, who lived in the bungalow alone and was self-isolating, received a large number of offers of help from people living nearby. Some of the neighbours moved onto the road even before my parents and I have known them since I was a child.
There is a small supermarket, an excellent pharmacy, a GP surgery, and a very good family-run Italian take-away all within a 5-minute walk. A wider range of shops can be found in Cox Green, and Maidenhead town centre is only a 2 ½ miles away, served by a local bus. Local favourites for dining out and drinks include the Beehive Pub in White Waltham and the Horse and Groom in Hare Hatch, a 10 min drive away.

With the opening of the new Elizabeth Line, Maidenhead will shortly have direct rail links into central London, which complement the existing services into Paddington. The area is also very well served by road, being close to junctions on the M4 and M40.

I’ve no doubt that the next owners will enjoy the property and the area as much as my parents and I have.

The Agents View...
This property has so much potential, the neighbours next door have added an extra bedroom and bathroom upstairs by doing front and side dorma's. They have also added a double story rear extension to provide great living space and increase the upstairs bedroom sizes. This property has the scope to copy those extensions and become a two / three bedroom chalet bungalow. Pretty much every property on the the road has done some sort of extension!

The Area View...
Cox Green is west of Maidenhead which is sought after for its popular schools (this one is in the Lowbrook Academy catchment which is currently top 7 in the UK) and easy access to both M4 and M40 motorways.
