Vendors Comment - We fell in love with its homely feel, quirkiness, and the swimming pool. We knew there was a hidden Inglenook fireplace, so we removed the woodchip wallpaper to uncover the fireplace beam ends. The original bread oven had gone, and the brickwork needed some attention. So, we brought in a specialist builder to renovate the fireplace using the old bricks and a few reclaimed ones. He even copied the original style of marking in the lime mortar.
We hope the next custodians will cherish the home and have fun here. We certainly have. This house has a lot of love to give.
Agents Comment - I have worked in the industry for the best part of two decades and this property has a feel about it like no other. Like anyone else who has grown up in the local area will likely be very familiar with this stunning property. For me, the chance to purchase a property like this is becoming rarer and rarer in the country. The property has so much to offer the next owner, the Inglenook fireplace, the original features and the house even has its own specialty paint name 'Lynwood Green'.
For the families out there looking for a sizeable property this house also ticks that box. There are 4 bedrooms upstairs and a bathroom at each end of the landing too. All rooms are double bedrooms with the two in the newer part of the house both in excess of 16ft.
Downstairs the main living room space measures 18ftx18ft but could be divided into two spaces if needed (maybe for a perfect playroom area if you have young children). The dining room on the floor plan shows the perfect opportunity to extend the house flush with the kitchen exterior wall, into a lovely open plan entertainment kitchen space (maybe with some lovely bi-fold doors).
The option for a 5th bedroom (titled family room on the floor plan & called The Snug by the owners) is a beautiful room with a high ceiling, lovely stain glass window, a private front door, large double shower ensuite and measures 14'5 x 11'4. It would make an ideal AirBnB, ground floor bedroom for a teenager looking for privacy or an elderly parent in need of ground floor living space.
Outside the property is a beautiful front garden overlooking the lane, Goughs Lane is stunning in the evening and well known in the local area as a prestigious location. The garden is home to the heated swimming pool as you will see in the photos. The feeling you get in the garden when the sun is shinning is the same as being on holiday. There are 4 storage sheds, all with power and the owners had even looked at turning one into a sauna because of the plumbing that is already there.
Please call me to book a viewing either with me or the owners if you would like any detailed questions answered.
Area Comment - Lynwood Cottage is in an ideal location because it is on the doorstep of The Lexicon, just round the corner from the local Village walks of Warfield and central to local commuter roads. Goughs Lane is seen and known as one of the most premier roads in the local area. The Lexicon Shopping centre has quickly become the heart beat of the local area with a selection of popular restaurants and well known shops. The property is also just over a miles walk from the Bracknell Train Station (On the Reading - Waterloo Line).
