Why Barn Drive? We moved here as a young family almost 50 years ago and for most roads you would say ‘we’ve seen so many come and go I hardly know anyone now; but that is not true of this little community, everyone is very welcoming to new residents and people make friends very quickly.

Once people move in, they tend to stay. Everyone looks out for each other and there is a real mix of young families, couples, and older people. It is a small safe road for children to play in, everyone is conscious that there may be little ones out on their bikes and scooters and takes care when coming in and out in the car. It is handy for country walks, popping to the local pub for dinner or a drink and the local shops are just a short walk away. There are parks and play areas within a short drive and the bus stop is just at the top of the road for direct access to the town or railway station. It is a quiet street, and everyone looks after their homes and the area.

I will be incredibly sad to leave this wonderful home and street with all its memories but a move to North Yorkshire to be nearer my family is what prompts this, although I am finding it difficult to choose a house and community just as wonderful! I know that the next owners of no 42 will be as happy as I have been as it really is a lovely place to live.
