Sellers View

12 Lunds Farm Road (Moormead) has been my home for 30 years, since I bought it in 1992. Whilst living here I was able to drive daily to work in Sunningdale, later in Maidenhead and most recently several times a week to Woking. Its proximity to the A4 and to the A329M makes it a perfect home for working anywhere to the East of Reading.

When I first viewed it I liked the airiness, size and shape of the living room, sufficient to accommodate occasional family gatherings and sometimes even the 20 members of a club to which I belonged. The 3 bedrooms struck me as spacious and even the single room can accommodate a double bed!

The garden has always given me pleasure, although only during lockdown did I ever really have the time to tame it. In its current state it is frequented by numerous small birds and butterflies, and at one time 3 hedgehogs were regular visitors. Now the garden still manages to surprise me with an unexpected crop of cherries this summer and a raspberry crop 2 years running, from a rogue raspberry cane. Of course the area beside the house presents a good opportunity for extension, STPP, which I do not feel equipped to tackle.

I enjoy living in this part of Lunds Farm Road, overlooking the grassy area around three sides of which our houses are built. During the Thursday claps of lockdown we could all look across and wave at each other.
Walking in the woodland area of nearby Ashenbury Park, which has a recently refurbished play area, was another lockdown bonus.

During recent jury service I discovered just how well served we are by the Route 13 and 14 bus stops, just round the corner in Tippings Lane, from which one can easily access the main Woodley Shopping Precinct and Reading town centre.

Having carried out a number of regular checks and remedial works over the years, in 2019 I carried out a further series of works. These included a refitted bathroom and new doors and UPVC windows. I had intended to live here for many years but my plans have now changed, so I must reluctantly pass my home on to someone else who can continue to appreciate what it already has to offer, and perhaps develop its potential further.

I hope that whoever buys my home will be as happy here as I have been.
